So Adam and I tried Fresh and Easy today. We keep hearing how everyone loves it. I've been reluctant, because honestly I loved Henry's and have been pouting since they left the market. And Sprouts, I'm sorry, is just gross.
But we decided we should check it out. First, I had no idea where the closest location is. I have to say we were pretty excited. The food looked fresh, and there were lots of easy meal options for those weeknights where we have Mac, and homework and doggies to walk, etc., etc. They also had great prices on things we buy all the time. For example, we've fallen in love with Kerrygold Irish Dubliner Cheese. (Seriously: yum.) We've been rationing it, because we've been paying about $10 at Safeway for it. As you can see from the link that it's being sold on that site for just over $5. Well, at Fresh and Easy, it's under $3. (By the way, their cheese selection overall is pretty good.)
So we picked up a few items (like their peanut butter cookies), and are looking forward to going there for our primary grocery trips.
But I have to admit, I still wish Henry's was back.

My bookworm baby. Something I love about Adam is that he loves to read. All three of us sit down in the evenings and read. It's wonderful!

Contentment
It's not every day you get to sit back, and truly feel content in life. At least, not that I've found. But lately, I've been getting this really great feeling. One of genuine family, and home. It's not something I've felt in my adult life, that I can think of. I guess I'm just really feeling blessed.
I have been working the past few hours on updating my website, which is for my kennel, Red Rose Kennels. (The address, in care you're curious, is redrosekennel.net.) I haven't really kept it up to date, so I spent some time doing that, and putting up some information about Molly. Adam and I were talking last night, and we're thinking of continuing the kennel, after all.
He's sitting across the room from me in my favorite chair. Ok, it may be our favorite chair... And he just... he just is so amazing. He's moved so far to be with us, and has repaired a fracture I didn't realize coursed through my life. We're a family. Somehow this is more alive than I remember being in years. I feel more grounded and content.
I am blessed by so many wonderful people in my life. Makenna, my mom and dad, Ryan, Nikki... all my friends and some truly awesome colleagues. These people have shown me show much.
So, on this encroaching evening, with the quiet noises of a household around me, I'll be thankful.
